Outertale is an Alternate Universe created by 2mi127 that replaces the setting of the underground of the original timeline with outer space. The characters all have space-themed clothing, and other than those two primary differences, the AU is completely identical to Undertale.

In Underverse, Classic!Sans, Underfell!Sans, and Underswap!Sans are sent to Outertale by Dream!Sans to take refuge after Underswap is destroyed. Error!Sans then follows to confront Ink!Sans, and proceeds to eradicate everyone living in the timeline. The remains of the universe are currently present in the Doodle Sphere.

History

At the end of Underverse 0.3, Dream!Sans opens a portal to Outertale, describing it as a safe AU to evacuate to from Underswap, which was currently close to being destroyed. Classic!Sans, Underfell!Sans, Underswap!Sans, and Ink!Sans all use the portal to enter the AU.

Ink disappears soon after their arrival in Outertale, leaving the remaining evacuees to converse about previous events. When they notice his disappearance, Classic!Sans offers to go look for him, and advises the other two to avoid being seen by any of the residents of Outertale.

In his search for Ink, Classic!Sans overhears a Loox exclaiming that a meteor shower is happening, and he relaxes as he watches it. While enjoying the meteor shower, he is noticed by the Sans of Outertale, and is told to shake his hand. Classic!Sans agrees, and the two both try to use "the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick" on each other, causing a loud noise that is heard by many people in Outertale.

Classic!Sans indirectly tells Outertale!Sans that he's looking for Ink, and the two go search for him. They instead find Nightmare!Sans, accompanied by Killer!Sans and XTale!Chara, while the former of which kills a native Astigmatism. Classic!Sans tries to tell Outertale!Sans that they weren't who he was looking for, and they shouldn't immediately interfere. Error then shows up, inquiring of Nightmare where Ink is. Nightmare points him in the direction of the two Sanses spying on them, causing him to try to attack them. Classic!Sans teleports away, while Outertale!Sans tries to fight back, leading to his death by the hands of Killer.

Error then goes on to kill every inhabitant of Outertale, wrapping their SOULs up in his strings. When Ink returns, he provokes him by taking his vial, leading to a massive clash that leads to the destruction of the universe. During this battle, Underfell!Sans tries to strike both of them using Gaster Blasters, but they both evade and the attack only ends up destroying the universe further, leaving everyone on floating chunks of land. Error later teleports the chunks of land and everyone on them to the Doodle Sphere, to make them watch as he destroys every Alternate Universe in the Doodle Sphere, Outertale included. The chunks of land remained in the Doodle Sphere following the confrontation.

Characteristics

Outertale is an outer space-themed Alternate Universe. It is completely identical in story to Undertale, with the only difference being that rather than being sealed underground, monsterkind was sealed on an abandoned moon. Most monsters' attire are much more space-themed, featuring primarily blue and yellow colors, and monsters turn into stardust when they die. The stars are openly visible, something that Classic!Sans was envious of.

The version of Sans from Outertale, having essentially the same personality as his classic counterpart. He is somewhat more carefree, since no human has appeared in his timeline yet, nor has he been burdened with the responsibility of an entire timeline on his shoulders. He was later killed by Killer!Sans.
