Friday Night Funkin': X-Event

Friday Night Funkin': X-Event is a modification of the popular 2020 Newgrounds rhythm game Friday Night Funkin'. Completed on April 29, 2021, the mod was developed by NyxTheShield using KadeEngine. Jael Peñaloza serves as the artist of various sprites and art used throughout the mod.

The mod features XTale characters XTale!Chara and XGaster, alongside Ink!Sans, battling against Boyfriend with XTale/Underverse songs created by Nyx. XTale!Chara battles Boyfriend with OVERWRITE, Ink!Sans with Inking Mistake, and XGaster with Relight.

The mod has received mixed receptions. Many praised the mod for its art direction and its usage of XTale and related multiverse characters and songs within the Friday Night Funkin' environment, but the mod has also received criticism over the charting of certain arrows for most of the songs involved.^[1] Heavy criticism has also been placed on Nyx himself, as many members of the Friday Night Funkin' modding community have repeatedly criticized Nyx's viewpoints against the creator of Friday Night Funkin', ninjamuffin, and Newgrounds as a whole. In response, Jael Peñaloza has asked members of the Friday Night Funkin' community to move on from the incident, as "he's done with [the mod] and moved on to work on other things".^[2] The mod was taken down once by users due to a rule that had been enforced by ninjamuffin that required all Friday Night Funkin' mods to be open-sourced.
